Kehinde Bello, general manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency, made an unannounced inspection of Metal Recycling Industries Limited in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area. The surprise visit aimed to check whether the factory was following environmental laws and standards.

Bello and his enforcement team examined the facility's production processes, waste disposal methods, and air emission controls during the tour. They assessed how well the company was managing pollution and sticking to the conditions in its environmental approvals.

The general manager said OGEPA remained focused on protecting the environment and public health through constant monitoring and enforcement work. He stressed that both planned and unannounced inspections had become key tools for pushing industries in the state to act responsibly.

All factories must comply with environmental rules, get the right permits, and put strong pollution prevention measures in place, Bello warned. He said companies needed to minimize how their operations affected nearby communities.

Bello urged Metal Recycling Industries Limited to keep up its environmental standards and fix any problems that inspectors found. He called on the company's management to work with OGEPA to build a cleaner and healthier environment in Ogun State.

The unscheduled visit signals the agency's determination to clamp down on environmental violations across the state. OGEPA has made clear it will not tolerate industries that breach regulations or fail to meet approval conditions.
