Wamakko mourns ex-Sokoto Commissioner, Dalhatu Tangaza

Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) on Friday mourned the demise of former Sokoto State Water Resources Commissioner,  Alhaji Dalhatu Tangaza.

Wamakko, the former governor of the State described the death of Tangaza as a great loss for the state and the country in general.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tangaza died in the early hours of Friday and had since been buried in his home town, Tangaza, Tangaza Local Government in accordance with Islamic rites.

The lawmaker, who attended the funeral prayer described the deceased as humble, honest and a trusted leader who held his subjects of Tangaza in the highest esteem.

Wamakko said that the late former commissioner died when his services to humanity were direly needed.

He prayed Allah, the Almighty to forgive the deceased all his sins and reward him with Jannatul Firdausi as his final abode.

NAN also reports that the funeral prayer was attended by hundreds of sympathisers in attendance.

Among them were:  Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of Police Affairs, Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim, former Governor of the old Sokoto State, former Ambassadors and other personalities.

Similarly, Sokoto State Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu has condoled the family members of the late Tangaza.

A statement issued by Bashar Abubakar, Wamakko’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, said Aliyu, who is currently performing the lesser Hajj at Saudi Arabia described the deceased as a dependable father and leader.

The Governor -elect said late Tangaza had spent his time in working for his people of Tangaza Local Government Area and the state as a whole.

He prayed Allah to forgive his sins and reward him with Jannatul Firdausi.
