The Executive Director of Value Rebirth Centre, Pastor Edewor Egedegbe, has congratulated Professor Sunny Awhefeada on his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Southern Delta University (SDU), describing the selection as “a square peg in a square hole” and “one appointment well deserved.”
In a congratulatory message, Pastor Egedegbe said the emergence of Professor Awhefeada marks a significant milestone for the institution, noting that his academic pedigree, administrative experience, and longstanding commitment to educational development uniquely position him to lead the university at this critical phase of its growth.
“This is a square peg in a square hole,” he stated. “This is one appointment well deserved. Professor Awhefeada has paid his dues in the academic community, scholarly works and his elevation to the position of Vice Chancellor is both fitting and inspiring.”
The Value Rebirth Centre boss expressed confidence that the new Vice Chancellor would provide visionary leadership capable of strengthening academic standards, deepening research output, and promoting a culture of discipline, innovation, and excellence within the university system.
He further observed that Southern Delta University stands at a pivotal moment in its institutional development and requires steady, principled, and forward-thinking leadership to consolidate its gains and expand its reputation as a centre of learning and character formation.
Pastor Egedegbe also called on staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders of SDU to rally behind Professor Awhefeada, emphasizing that collective support and cooperation would be vital to achieving the university’s long-term goals.
