The University of Chicago (UChicago) has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria graduated from the university in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in business and administration.
Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), claimed that Tinubu submitted false documents to the National Election Commission before the February 25 election.
However, CSU said that it was confident in the veracity and integrity of its records regarding Tinubu’s completion of graduation requirements and degree certificate.
The university also said that it was not a party to the Nigerian legal proceedings that spurred the request and that a U.S. federal judge would determine whether the university would provide further requested information.
