U-17 AFCON: Analyst urges Eaglets to strengthen defence against Burkina Faso

Chika Obi, a sports analyst, has advised the technical crew of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to strengthen the team’s defence in the quarter-final match against Burkina Faso at the ongoing 2023 African Under-17 Cup of Nations.

Obi gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun.

NAN reports that the Golden Eaglets will be playing against the Burkina Faso team in the quarter-final of the ongoing 2023 U-17 African Cups of Nations in Algeria on Wednesday.

The sports analyst said the technical crew of the Golden Eaglets needed to strengthen the defence of the team because the two goals scored against them by South Africa were cheap goals and due to defensive errors.

Obi urged the Golden Eaglets not to underrate Burkina Faso as no team in Africa could be underrated anymore in football.

“I wish to commend them for their brilliant performances and coming from behind twice against the Moroccan team, but they have to put that one behind them and focus on the quarter-final match,” he said.

Obi also advised the Nigeria Under 17 team to utilise their chances against Burkina Faso in order not to crash out of the tournament.
