Tribunal upholds Sanwo-Olu’s victory in Lagos governorship election

The Lagos State Governorship Election Tribunal has upheld the victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the duly elected governor of Lagos State in the March 18, 2023 election.

The three-person tribunal, presided over by Justice Arum Ashom, held that the petitioners failed to prove their allegations of irregularities, malpractices, and non-compliance with the Electoral Act.

The tribunal further held that the petitioners did not present any credible evidence to substantiate their claims of forgery and falsification of documents against Sanwo-Olu.

The tribunal, therefore, affirmed the election and return of Sanwo-Olu as the governor of Lagos State and dismissed the petitions for lacking merit.
