Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on Thursday made a dramatic return to public life after more than ten years, as he served as Chief Launcher of the Delta State Security Trust Fund during a high-profile ceremony at the Government House, Asaba.
The landmark event, presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, brought together top government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders from across Delta State. Tompolo’s appearance—his first formal public engagement with the government in over a decade—drew widespread attention from political observers and community leaders.
The 'Delta State Security Trust Fund', initiated by the Oborevwori administration, aims to mobilize resources to strengthen security infrastructure, enhance intelligence gathering, and improve coordination among security agencies. Commending Tompolo’s presence, Governor Oborevwori described it as “a show of solidarity, partnership, and commitment to peace and security in the Niger Delta,” reaffirming his administration’s determination to sustain peace, particularly in riverine areas.
