Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima left Abuja on Sunday for Beijing, China, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) scheduled for October 17 and 18.
The BRF is a high-level platform for dialogue and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a global development strategy proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 to enhance connectivity and cooperation among countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and beyond.
According to a statement from the vice president’s office, Shettima will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the forum, as well as participate in a roundtable meeting with other heads of state and government and bilateral meetings with Chinese leaders and other dignitaries.
