Teibowei lauds Doma United “beautiful goals” against Bayelsa United

By Peter Uwumarogie

The Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Dipreye Teibowei, has lauded Doma United players for outplaying his side and scoring what he described as “beautiful goals”.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Doma United defeated visiting Bayelsa United 2-1 in the 2022/2023 Group B Match Day 15 fixture played at the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe on Sunday.

Speaking in a post-match conference, Teibowei said that the home team played better and scored goals that impressed him and the fans.

He said that both teams gave a good account of themselves and thrilled the fans with good display of the game.

“For me, I think it was a good match.

“Doma United scored beautiful goals, likewise Bayelsa United.

“They (Doma United) played good football and we can’t take it away from them.

“They scored beautiful goals. The fans are happy.

“They cheered as they watched. They saw good football from both sides,” Teibowei said.

According to him, the fans got good value for their time as they were well entertained watching both teams play.

Also speaking, Akinade Onigbinde, the Technical Adviser of Doma United Football Club of Gombe, said his team’s goals were a delight to watch.

Onigbinde said the manner in which the goal-scoring task was carefully executed excited him and showed that his players were stabilising in the league.

“What made everybody happy was the build-up to the goals.

“Our attacking line is now good and I am happy about that.

“Our build-up and transition game from defence to attack is very fast and good,” he said.

Some of the fans, who spoke to NAN, said they were excited not just by the outcome of the match but the manner the home side scored their goals.

Ibrahim Suleiman said he had never seen goals so “carefully planned and scored like in the English Premier League like today’s”.

Suleiman said he was forced to clap after Charles Chibuke scored the first goal and minutes later another awesome goal was scored.

“I enjoy watching Doma United play here at the Pantami stadium and this helps us keep our weekend lively and worthwhile.”

A supporter of Doma United, Danladi Gambo, appealed to the League Management Committee to work toward live streaming of all NPFL matches to give opportunity to sports enthusiasts to enjoy such matches.

“Some beautiful moments like what we saw today are being denied viewers across the country and beyond and it’s not good for football development,” he said.

NAN reports that Charles Chibuke scored the first goal for the home side after 53 minutes of play, which sent the fans into wild jubilation.

Hillary Ekawu made it two for Doma in the 68th minute, while Fabby Clark pulled the visitors’ lone goal in the 83rd minute.
