Super Eagles to Play Friendlies Behind Closed Doors Ahead of AFCON 2023

Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, will play their upcoming friendly matches behind closed doors.

This decision comes as a shock to many fans who were eagerly awaiting the chance to see their favorite team in action before the much-anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.

The Super Eagles are set to face Guinea in a friendly match on January 7, 2024, as part of their preparations for the AFCON 2023 tournament. However, the NFF has decided to keep the match under wraps, citing “tactical reasons” for the decision.

The team’s coach, Jose Peseiro, has been tight-lipped about the exact reasons behind this move, leaving fans and media speculating about the motives.

Despite the closed-door policy, the Super Eagles are still expected to put on a strong performance against Guinea.

The team has been training hard, with their first session taking place on January 4, 2024, behind closed doors as well. This will be the first time the Super Eagles face Guinea in a friendly match, and it is sure to be an exciting encounter.

The Super Eagles are looking to make a strong showing in the upcoming AFCON 2023 tournament, and these closed-door friendlies will play a crucial role in their preparations.
