Nigeria's stock market surged dramatically during the week ending Friday, July 10, with investors pumping roughly N9.34 trillion into equities. The buying spree lifted the Nigerian Exchange Limited's market capitalisation from N147.103 trillion at the week's open to N156.444 trillion by close of trading.

Institutional investors drove much of the gains by snapping up shares in blue-chip companies with solid fundamentals. The seven-day rally reversed earlier market weakness and signalled renewed confidence among major portfolio managers.
