Spain's European champions dismantled France 2-0 on Tuesday to seal a World Cup final berth. Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro scored the goals that sent La Roja through to their first final since lifting the trophy in 2010.
Lamine Yamal, the teenage star, drew a penalty in the 22nd minute after being fouled in the box. Oyarzabal stepped up and converted coolly to give Spain the lead they deserved.
France, led by captain Kylian Mbappe, started with intensity and looked dangerous on the break. But Spain's disciplined defence and clinical finishing proved too much for Didier Deschamps' side.
Porro doubled the advantage in the 58th minute. He linked up sharply with Dani Olmo before drilling a low shot into the corner to seal the victory.
France threw on fresh legs with Desire Doue and Rayan Cherki entering the fray. Spain's rearguard didn't budge, though, as the European champions controlled the closing stages with ease.
Goalkeeper Unai Simon made another confident save, while Marc Cucurella produced a vital block to thwart Mbappe. France couldn't find a way through their stubborn opponents.
Spain now awaits the winner of Wednesday's semi-final between England and Argentina. The two nations will battle for the right to face La Roja in the final.
France will contest the third-place playoff on Saturday against the loser of that encounter. Their quest for a third World Cup title has ended in heartbreak.
