Ukraine's military launched a strike on a Russian electronics plant on Monday. The facility in Voronezh produces critical components for missile systems.

Air-launched cruise missiles hit the plant, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. They said the factory plays a vital role in Russia's defence production.

Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed the attack damaged a production facility in the region. Three people suffered injuries, he noted, without revealing the plant's specific purpose.

Gusev added that Russian air defence systems intercepted several high-speed targets over the area. He warned residents to prepare for possible follow-up missile attacks.

Ukrainian forces also targeted the Dubna satellite communications centre near Moscow. Heavy smoke rose from the site after the strike, officials reported.

Damage assessments at Dubna are still underway. Full details of the destruction remain unclear at this stage.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defences shot down 84 drones targeting the capital in 24 hours. Emergency crews were sent to locations where the unmanned aircraft crashed.

Four major airports near Moscow shut down temporarily following the attacks. Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky all suspended operations.

Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed its forces destroyed 301 drones overnight. Some fell over Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, the ministry added.

Monday's assault follows a drone strike on Moscow's sole oil refinery days earlier. That attack ranked among the heaviest aerial bombardments on the Russian capital since the 2022 invasion began.
