In a shocking incident, retired Brigadier General Harold Udokwere was reportedly murdered during a home invasion in the early hours of Saturday, June 22nd 2024, at his residence in Abuja.
The assault took place around 3 am at No. 1 Sanga Street, Sunshine Homes, near Kabusa Junction in Lokogoma.
According to sources, the robbers demanded jewellery, money, and other valuables from the General. Gunshots were heard during the attack, and one of the estate guards was injured.
Brigadier General Udokwere was rushed to the National Hospital Abuja, where he was later confirmed dead.
The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Benneth Igweh, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
In a statement, Police Command spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the armed robbery attack and expressed profound condolences to the bereaved family.
Commissioner Igweh assured the family and the public that swift justice would be served, with every effort being made to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He also reaffirmed the command's commitment to enhancing the security landscape of the nation's capital by adapting strategies to effectively combat evolving criminal activities.
