The management of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu on Sunday took time out to express the club’s gratitude to football fans in Awka for their support.

Emeka Ugwuarua, the club’s Administrative Secretary, expressed their gratitude after their match day 18 fixture against Rivers United in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Group B.

The match played at the Akwa Township Stadium had ended 1-1 after strikes by Rangers’ Samuel Pam in the 12th minute and Ebube Duru of Rivers United in the 50th minute.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Awka Township Stadium has served as the home ground for the Flying Antelopes for two seasons now.

Ugwuarua, while speaking on behalf of the club management in Awka, said: “We thank our teeming fans in Awka. Your support has been massive. Awka has been home to us for two seasons, and we appreciate you immensely.

“We started the now-ended season here and we completed it successfully today. We thank you all for being there for us all through.”

Meanwhile, Stanley Eguma, the Technical Adviser of Rivers United, while speaking on their 1-1 draw said he was satisfied with the match’s outcome even though he was there for a win.
