President Donald Trump unveiled a new Air Force One jet on Friday. Qatar gifted the aircraft to replace aging planes that have served American presidents for decades.

According to the U.S. Air Force, the VC-25B Bridge aircraft has arrived at the Presidential Airlift Group.

It will now begin its initial commissioning flights as a secure, modified executive platform.

Worth hundreds of millions of dollars, the Qatari gift sparked debate among observers. Trump dismissed criticism, calling it "stupid" to reject such an offer.

The outgoing aircraft served U.S. presidents for 35 years, officials noted on Thursday. White House staff bid farewell to the retiring jet, hailing it as a "good servant."

Trump has long wanted to modernize the presidential fleet. He pushed for replacements during his first term as well.
