Pro-Tinubu Youths Rally at NASS, Oppose NLC’s Nationwide Protests

A group of Pro-Tinubu youths staged a solidarity march from the Unity Fountain to the National Assembly complex in Abuja on February 23, 2024.

The aim of the rally was to demand that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) halt its planned two-day nationwide protest over the high cost of living and the current economic situation in the country.

The group of young supporters of President Bola Tinubu argued that the Labour Congress should return to the negotiation table with the Federal Government instead of resorting to protests.

They vowed to mobilize Nigerians against the workers if the lawmakers couldn’t convince the NLC to refrain from going ahead with the planned protest.

The protesters arrived at the complex in six luxury buses, chanting solidarity songs and carrying placards with anti-NLC messages.

Some of the placards read: “Let’s be patient with Tinubu,” “NLC, please rest. Jagaban is working,” and “NLC, stop pretending to be fighting for Nigerians.”

The rally at the National Assembly complex underscores the growing tension between the Pro-Tinubu supporters and the NLC over the latter’s planned nationwide protests.

It remains to be seen how the Nigerian government will respond to the demands of the Pro-Tinubu youths and the NLC.
