A private jet carrying VIPs has crash-landed at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Nigeria. The incident occurred on January 26, 2024, and has left the nation in disbelief.

According to reports, the aircraft, with registration number N580KR, missed the runway and veered into the nearby bush.

In response to the incident, the Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, has emphasized the importance of prioritizing gas production, commercialization, and industrialization projects in Nigeria.

He stated that these projects will not only create jobs and boost the economy but also improve the safety and efficiency of transportation in the country.

As the investigation continues, the nation awaits the outcome, hoping that measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

This event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety of all air travel, whether private or commercial.
