On Monday, the Imo State Police Command promised to apprehend the murderers of the traditional ruler of Otulu Amumara in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Council Area of Imo State, Eze Joe-Benz Ochulor, who was abducted and killed last Saturday.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PORO, Henry Okoye, revealed this to the press in Owerri.

The command said that with this step to arrest the killers of the monarch, it would prevent attacks on traditional rulers in the state.

According to the police, “The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has vehemently denounced the brutal murder of HRH Eze J. B. Ochulor, the traditional ruler of Otulu Amumara Autonomous Community in Ezinihitte-Mbaise LGA, who was kidnapped on November 25, 2023, and later shot dead by unknown gunmen.

“The CP announced this during a visit to the crime scene for on-the-spot evaluation and confidence-building patrol, where he firmly stated that attacks on traditional rulers will not be tolerated in the state. He swore that the Command would spare no effort in ensuring that the culprits of the atrocious crime were arrested and made to face the full fury of the law.

“Consequently, the CP has established a high-powered investigating team and instructed them to go all out and crack down on the attackers. The CP calls on the general public to stay calm and cooperate with the police by providing helpful information that may assist in the capture of the suspects.”

“In the aftermath of this tragedy, the CP reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensure the utmost safety and security of traditional rulers and other law-abiding residents in the state. He noted that the command is persistent in wiping out all forms of violent crimes and criminal elements in the state.

“CP Aboki Danjuma extends his sincere condolence message to the family and friends of HRH Eze J. B. Ochulor and prays that the almighty God grant them the strength to bear the sudden and irreplaceable loss,” the command said.
