Police, NDLEA to jointly combat criminality in Sokoto State

Police in Sokoto State and the NDLEA have tightened collaboration to fight criminality in the state.

NDLEA’s spokesman in Sokoto State, Mr Mohammed Dahiru, stated on Thursday that the collaboration was discussed when the police commissioner, Mr Ali Kaigama, visited the NDLEA’s state command on Thursday.

He stated that Kaigama was received by Mr Adamu Iro, NDLEA’s Commander in Sokoto State, who assured of strategic measures to end criminality in the state.

“We will continue to sustain the already existing cordial relationship established by my predecessors.

“Our mandate as law enforcement agency is to ensure citizens’ safety.

“We will continue to work closely with the NDLEA to address the challenges of drug trafficking,’’ the police commissioner said.

In his remarks, Iro thanked the police commissioner for the visit to the NDLEA and assured of the latter’s continuous working relationship with the police.
