Philip Shaibu Declares For 2024 Edo Governorship Race

Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, has announced his plan to run for the 2024 governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The deputy governor made his announcement at the Biohop Kelly Centre, Benin City, on Monday morning.

Shaibu said that as a native of the state who has experienced the hardships of the people, he is determined to develop the state.

He said he is invincible in the upcoming 2024 election.

He said he had collaborated with Governor Godwin Obaseki in the last seven years to establish the foundation for the development of Edo State.

Shaibu appealed to the people to back him in realising his dream of becoming the next governor of the state.

The deputy governor was scheduled to announce his governorship aspirations at the Eterno Hotel, but the hotel called off the event at the last minute, saying Governor Obaseki had a programme for the venue at the same time.
