Seriake Dickson, the NDC's national leader, says Peter Obi was in the room. The party passed a motion on supremacy that day.

Dickson spoke at a stakeholder meeting on Thursday in the party's headquarters. He outlined new rules for how the party will operate going forward.

According to him, affiliated groups like the Obidient Movement must now work under NDC oversight. The party wants to prevent any individual from taking control after winning elections.

"His Excellency, Peter Obi was present when Senator Ovie Omo-Agege moved this motion," Dickson noted. Senator Victor Umeh seconded it, and members voted to approve it.

Every elected official must follow party programmes and policies, he stressed. These won't be decided by personal preference or individual whim.

"Whether in the National Assembly or elsewhere, we're building an institution," the NDC leader added. He acknowledged this vision might take years to fully realize.

Government policies must align with party directives across all levels. A team is currently working to refine certain proposals for public presentation.

Dickson also announced changes to the appointment process going forward. All nominations will require consensus from party leadership and stakeholders at every tier.

The directive marks a significant shift in how the party intends to manage internal affairs. It reflects concerns about maintaining party discipline among elected representatives.
