Nigeria's i-invest platform has rolled out a major upgrade aimed at simplifying how everyday Nigerians invest their money. The digital investment service now combines investing and borrowing in one ecosystem.
Tobi Olusoga, who runs Parthian Technologies, unveiled the changes at a Lagos event on Thursday. He stressed that the overhaul targets a real problem: many Nigerians see investing as too complicated or out of reach.
"For many people, investing still feels complex, intimidating, or inaccessible," Olusoga said. "We wanted to change that."
According to him, the refreshed platform makes wealth creation simpler and more intuitive. It's now accessible to people at any stage of their financial journey.
The redesigned interface lets users customise their dashboards and track holdings with greater ease. They can discover investment opportunities matched to their specific interests.
Jennifer Omame leads product development at i-invest. She told reporters that modern investors demand digital experiences that feel intelligent and personalised.
"Users can now customise their dashboards to prioritise the information most relevant to them," Omame explained. This includes fixed-income options, market movers, watchlists, and financial news.
A significant new feature allows users to borrow money against their investment portfolios. i-invest partnered with i-Monie Microfinance Bank to offer asset-backed loans.
Eligible customers can now access financing without selling their investments. This helps them meet immediate financial needs while keeping long-term wealth-building plans on track.
Wendy Okam runs i-Monie Microfinance Bank. She noted that the partnership makes loans directly available through the i-invest app.
Security enhancements are central to the new platform. Users now benefit from PIN-based authorisation and biometric authentication features.
Advanced infrastructure protects customer data and assets across the system. Kole Kuyoro, chief technology officer at Parthian Technologies, stressed this commitment.
"The future of digital finance depends on trust," Kuyoro said. "As we continue to expand access to investment opportunities, we are equally committed to maintaining the highest standards of security, reliability, and platform resilience."
The upgrade supports i-invest's larger mission of democratising wealth creation across Nigeria. The platform aims to empower citizens and diaspora members to invest with confidence.
Since launching eight years ago, i-invest has served hundreds of thousands of users. The platform gives investors access to multiple investment products through a single digital channel.
