Paris Saint-Germain clinched the UEFA Champions League trophy on Saturday in Budapest. They defeated Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 following extra time.

Victory brought PSG more than €100 million in total revenue from this season's competition. Luis Enrique's side became only the second club ever to retain the European crown.

Real Madrid was the first to achieve back-to-back titles in the modern era. PSG matched that feat with their second consecutive triumph.

Arsenal's bid for the Premier League and Champions League double ended in heartbreak on Saturday. The Gunners had hoped to complete an unprecedented domestic and European sweep.

UEFA awarded PSG €25 million as the winners' bonus. Arsenal received €18.5 million as runners-up.

When combined with league phase earnings and knockout bonuses, PSG's total haul exceeded €100 million. Broadcasting rights and performance payments made up the remainder.

Kai Havertz put Arsenal ahead early in the match. The German striker capitalized on a defensive error just six minutes in.

Arsenal controlled much of the game with solid defensive work. PSG had scored consistently throughout the competition but found the Gunners difficult.

Ousmane Dembele converted a second-half penalty to equalize for PSG. Neither team could break the deadlock in the remaining 90 minutes.

Extra time produced no winner either. The shootout decided matters in PSG's favor, with Arsenal's Eberechi Eze and Gabriel missing crucial penalties.

Enrique has now won three Champions League titles as a manager. He guided Barcelona to glory in 2015 before his Paris successes.

His tactical shift at PSG proved decisive. Instead of relying on star names, he built a balanced and cohesive squad.

"It was Real Madrid, and now it's us too," midfielder Fabian Ruiz told Movistar after the final whistle. His words reflected the magnitude of PSG's achievement.

Winger Desire Doue echoed the celebration afterward. "We are so proud, so happy, and so grateful.

As a team, as a family, I think we deserve this," he said.

PSG's first Champions League title ended 55 years without European silverware. That success fulfilled a longtime ambition under Qatari ownership.

Consecutive titles now position the club differently. Observers see the foundation for sustained European dominance taking shape.

The French champions have established themselves among Europe's genuine elite. Their financial rewards and on-pitch success suggest their rise shows no sign of stopping.
