Panel Indicts Suspended Dekina PDP Chairman Ejini as Stakeholders Endorse Removal

The political turmoil in the Dekina chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has finally come to an end with the submission of the final report by a five-man panel led by Usman Abuh, popularly known as Alapa.

The panel’s findings have been endorsed by the party stakeholders, headed by Chief John Odawn JP, the state pioneer party chairman.

The panel’s report highlights the indictment of the former Divisional Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Husseini Ejini, for his alleged involvement in the diversion of funds meant for the completion of the party secretariat in Dekina.

Furthermore, Ejini was accused of engaging in anti-party activities, extortion from various party aspirants, and collecting money from other political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

During private interactions with the committee chairman and secretary, Ejini admitted to not being the only one who took the funds, implicating other ward chairmen as well.

He also revealed that some stakeholders of the party, who participated in the last gubernatorial election, shared a portion of the funds with him.

As a result of these findings, the stakeholders have endorsed the removal of Ejini as the Divisional chairman.

He was initially nominated to replace late Sani Dr Hook.

In a related development, the party has expelled Abocho ward Chairman, Hon Obaka Adofu; Hon Daniel Abimaje of Oduh 2; and Hon. Enefola Benjamin, who started a civil servant job with Kogi State University, while Abocho and Oduh Ward 2 were suspended for diverting money meant for the party activity.

These actions demonstrate the party’s commitment to purging itself of corrupt elements and ensuring that the interests of its members are protected.

The political landscape in Nigeria is constantly evolving, and it remains to be seen how these developments will impact the future of the PDP in Dekina and the broader political scene in the country.
