Oyo Governor Presents Staff of Office to New Asigangan of Igangan

In the Ibarapa area of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde presented the staff and instruments of office to the newly appointed Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi, Ariwoola Aako II.

The ceremony took place at the Federal Technical College in Igangan, marking a new chapter in the development of the local government.

During the presentation, Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of collaboration between the traditional institution and government authorities in addressing pressing issues such as illegal mining, land grabbing, and kidnapping, which threaten the peace and progress of the entire local government.

The Governor called upon the new Asigangan to work hand in hand with his administration to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Ibarapa.

The Governor’s representative, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, urged the monarch to unite the people of Igangan by exhibiting the wisdom and humility expected of a leader.

He also mentioned that Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi was duly nominated by the ruling house and went through a successful screening process before being accepted by the government on recommendation.

The presentation of the staff of office and instrument of office is in line with the power conferred upon Governor Seyi Makinde as the Governor of Oyo State.

The Governor expressed his hope that the new Asigangan will work towards the development of Ibarapa and contribute to the overall progress of the state.

The appointment of Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi as the new Asigangan of Igangan signifies a new era of collaboration and cooperation between the traditional institution and the government in addressing the challenges faced by the local government.

It is expected that this partnership will lead to a safer and more prosperous community for the people of Ibarapa and the entire state of Oyo.
