As part of ongoing efforts to enhance health and well-being for rural communities, more than 1,024 individuals received free medical services through an outreach organized in the Isoko North Local Government Area.

The initiative, spearheaded by Delta State’s Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, provided critical medical care, including surgeries and preventive screenings, to communities with limited healthcare access.

The outreach targeted Primary Health Centers in Ellu, Ovrode, and Aradhe communities. “Health is the cornerstone of empowerment. By supporting the health of our rural populations, we are investing in Delta State’s future,” Dr. Onojaeme noted.

Represented at the event by Dr. Omovigho Agbele, his Technical Advisor, Dr. Onojaeme’s team successfully completed 14 surgeries, including hernia repairs, biopsies, and other essential procedures.

The outreach also offered screenings for hypertension and diabetes, along with consultations and treatments for common ailments. Health education sessions further emphasized preventive care, empowering residents with information to maintain their well-being.

This large-scale outreach was supported by a dedicated team of 63 doctors, 24 nurses, and 13 support workers who delivered comprehensive medical services to all beneficiaries. The program highlights how philanthropy can fill critical gaps in health services, aiming to create a healthier, more empowered rural Delta community.

Among the beneficiaries was Amos Eremise from Ofagbe, who received hernia surgery through this initiative.
