Onochie Blasts Obi for Questioning Tinubu’s Identity

Lauretta Onochie, the former chairman of the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has slammed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), for questioning the identity of President Bola Tinubu.

Obi, who was the former vice president and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, had challenged Tinubu to reveal his true identity to Nigerians and the world following the controversy over his academic records at the Chicago State University (CSU).

Obi had alleged that Tinubu lied on oath about his qualification and violated Section 137 of the Constitution, which provides grounds for disqualification of a presidential candidate.

However, Onochie, who is a staunch supporter of Tinubu, took to X (formerly Twitter) to blast Obi for his “idiotic” and “shameless” request. She said that Tinubu’s identity was well-known and verified by the security operatives in Nigeria, who cleared him to serve as a two-term governor of Lagos State, a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the president of Nigeria.

She also said that Obi had no moral right to question Tinubu’s identity, as he had failed to lead Anambra State and the southeast region when he was in power. She accused him of being responsible for the violence and destruction that plagued the region under his watch.

She further said that Obi had no chance of becoming the president of Nigeria, as he had lost to Tinubu in the 2023 election by a wide margin. She advised him to “go home” and “shelf his desperation”, as his ambition was beyond what he deserved.

She concluded her tweets by mocking Obi’s request for Tinubu’s true identity. She said that Tinubu’s real name was “Nemesis Jupiter”, and that his father was “Karma”, the king of Jupiter, who married his mother from Mars.
