Omo-Agege urges Nigerians see to Buhari’s Govt as a collective project

The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege has urged Nigerians to see the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as a collective project which requires the positive efforts of all irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.

 

He said this would greatly help the fight against corruption, crime, Boko Haram and other vices bedeviling Nigeria.

 

In his New Year message signed by his Special Assistant, Communications, Godwin Anaughe, Omo-Agege expressed optimism in the New Year and called for prayers for President Buhari.

 

“Let’s make 2017 the year of jobs and growth to ignite hope in our people that brighter days are ahead. That though the challenges we face as a nation are daunting, if we all commit to work together, everyone doing his or her bit, we will overcome our challenges within the shortest possible time” he enjoined.

 

The Senator also lent his voice to the calls for local content, charging Nigerians to look inwards. “If we all commit to shun foreign goods and our entrepreneurs commit to investing in industries that uses local raw materials and our youths embrace farming, we can become a nation that consumes what it produces.

 

“It is only by so doing that we can bring back our jobs and make Nigeria great again”. According to him, the challenges would be overcome if the New Year – 2017 is channelled into positive efforts devoid of complaints and blame game.

 

He cautioned against sitting idle and engaging in crime. “The time to sit idle and wait for manna and quail from heaven has gone. It is time to cross our Red Sea. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and take advantage of the emerging new opportunities.”

 

Omo-Agege reassured his constituents of his commitment to their cause and called on them to as a matter of urgency, do away with all divisiveness and unite for the peace and progress of the Urhobo nation.

 

“I want 2017 to be the time the Urhobo nation begins to reclaim its rightful leadership position in state and country. I will not quit building bridges of friendship and cooperation for the progress of our people worldwide. Urhobo must win back it’s respect in the committee of ethnic nationalities in Nigeria.”

 

He however warned Urhobo youths against any form of armed struggle and encouraged them to embrace dialogue with Federal Government in resolving the Niger Delta crisis.
