Former Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has congratulated businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, on his 50th birthday, describing him as a leader who measures success by the lives he uplifts rather than the wealth he amasses.
In a goodwill message signed by Sunny Areh, Media Adviser to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to mark the milestone, Omo-Agege said Tonlagha exemplifies a new generation of leadership defined by impact and national relevance. “An emerging leadership is measured by impact, national relevance, and the ability to align private enterprise with public good. This captures the essence of Matthew Tonlagha,” the former Deputy Senate President stated.
He praised the celebrant as an astute business leader whose sense of fulfillment is rooted in service to humanity. According to him, Tonlagha “measures success not by profit margins, but by the positive impact on lives,” noting that his resources have been deployed to uplift countless individuals across communities.
Omo-Agege further commended Tonlagha’s strong philanthropic drive, describing it as the defining force behind his leadership philosophy. “As you mark 50 years on this earth, it’s clear that philanthropy drives you. The joy you derive from touching lives is palpable, and profit takes a backseat. That’s the kind of leadership Nigeria needs,” he said.
While celebrating the golden jubilee, the senator expressed pride in Tonlagha’s journey and the example he continues to set. “Your life is a testament to the power of using one’s success to make a difference. You’re teaching us all what true happiness and fulfillment mean,” Omo-Agege added.
He wished the celebrant good health, long life, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead, praying that his legacy of service and compassion would inspire generations to come.
