The Olotu & Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation has marked its seventh anniversary, outlining a record of community interventions in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and security across Delta State.
At the commemoration, Executive Director Dr. Olotu Akpodiete said the foundation’s work was driven by a commitment to improving lives. “There is no better feeling than seeing a smile of gratitude from the heart of one uplifted or those sacred words: ‘God bless you,’” he said.
In the past year, the foundation registered more than 400 residents under the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, organised lectures on health insurance and conflict resolution, trained and provided loans to over 40 elderly women in Otor-Ihwreko, and donated security communication gadgets to communities in Ughelli North and South. It also sponsored academic and sporting events, including the Dean’s Cup at the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko.

Sinceits establishment in 2018, the foundation has conducted medical outreaches in Ughelli and Okparabe, built water projects in schools, awarded scholarships to university students, trained more than 120 women and youths in fish farming, and supported orphanages and prisons with food and educational materials.
Government College Ughelli has also benefited from protective materials, hostel equipment, and educational support provided by the organisation, while over 130 residents in Ughelli North have been enrolled in state health insurance programmes.
The foundation pledged to sustain its interventions and called on partners and supporters to continue backing its humanitarian drive.
