Okorodudu joins House of representatives race

Former Delta State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs and current Political Adviser to the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu has announce his intention to contest for the House of Representative, Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP). 
Okorodudu, who declared his intention today in his speech stated that; “In a democracy which has the classical definition of Government of the people, by the people and for the people, representation is the very key to the success of good governance.
“In a democracy, the most valid concept is Prebendalism.That is, every representative struggle at the centre to attract dividends of democracy to their constituent.
“The more dividend of democracy in terms of development, employment and empowerment you attract to your constituent, the more effective you are as a representative.”
Okorodudu added that to succeed as a representative, the representative must be educationally sound to relate with his colleagues, present bills and be diplomatic enough to attract development to his people.
He noted Ughelli North/South and Udu Federal Constituency is a very strategic and important constituency in Urhobo Nation, therefore deserves competent hands to represent it.
“This constituency is the very heart and can claim to be the centre of Urhobo Nation with several kingdoms embedded in it. It is naturally endowed with human population, size and natural resources especially oil and gas and steel industry.
“Because of these natural gifts of nature, it also has its attendant challenges of spillages, crude oil theft, pollution, criminal activities that enchroaches on the peace, and order of the communities.
Okorodudu described himself as one who is imbued with deep knowledge of the legislature, “I strongly believe that I have what it takes to represent the good and peace loving people of the Federal Constituency.
“I have the required educational capacity and qualifications, the governmental experience, having served as Commissioner twice and held several government positions at the Local, State and Federal levels.
“A good knowledge of our culture and fluent command of the spoken language, social relations, communications and goodwill with the people and traditional institution.
“It is my desire to serve my people with whom I have worked over the years in this capacity. If I am given the opportunity, I will give my best for the service of my people,” he added.
