Okai to Yahaya Bello: Time to Face the Music

Usman Okai Austin, the House of Representatives candidate for Dekina/Bassa in the 2023 elections, has urged the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to address the allegations of state funds diversion without the interference of the state government.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently investigating the case, and Okai believes that it’s time for Bello to demonstrate his strength and courage, rather than evading the issue.

Okai also expressed his concern about the state government’s defense of the former Governor, stating that it’s inappropriate for them to speak on behalf of an ordinary citizen like Bello, who no longer holds immunity.

In a statement, Okai mentioned that lions are known for their bravery and ability to withstand threats, but the “White Lion of Kogi” seems to be unable to face his own problems.

He also criticized the former Governor for his past behavior and the rumors of his unofficial office in Lugard House.

The allegations against Bello include the diversion of state funds, maladministration, and fraud, which have left workers, teachers, pensioners, and local government employees in distress.

Okai believes that these issues should be addressed and that Bello should be held accountable.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the former Governor will respond to these allegations and whether he will take responsibility for his actions during his time in office.
