Ogun Woman Detained for Inserting Firewood into 12-Year-Old's Private Part

A woman in Ogun State has been taken into custody for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl by inserting firewood into her private part.

The incident occurred on Tuesday in the Isewo Obada Oko area of Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state, as reported by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola.

According to Odutola, the suspect, who was the guardian of the victim, had severely beaten the minor and then inserted a piece of firewood into her private part.

Upon receiving a report of the assault, the Divisional Police Officer in the area took immediate action, sending the division’s juvenile officer to the scene.

The PPRO confirmed that the suspect confessed to the crime and is currently under further investigation. "The suspect admitted to committing the crime, and the investigation is ongoing," Odutola stated.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern over child protection and the severity of the alleged assault. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served.
