Police in Benue State have apprehended 10 suspects linked to the murder of MACBAN's state chairman. Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed and his companion, Yakubu Isah, were killed on Friday.

The two men died on a rural road in Otukpo Local Government Area. They were traveling back from a security meeting in Ohimini when attackers struck.

Officers arrested the suspects Saturday night during an intelligence operation. DSP Udeme Edet, the police spokesman, announced the breakthroughs on Sunday in Makurdi.

Ten names were released by authorities. Among them: Titus Thyodenda, 25; Utibe Sam, 20; Owoicho Ameh, 18; Sunday Useni, 21; and Sunday Ogbanje, 46.

Five others were also named. They are Daniel Raphael, 23; Adokole John, 24; Samuel Ogazi, 32; Agbo Daniel, 25; and Onazi James, 30.

Investigators had gathered intelligence before the operation began. The killings prompted the rapid response from tactical teams across the area.

Police Commissioner Cletus Nwadiogbu praised his officers for their speed. He noted their professionalism had yielded quick results in the case.

Nwadiogbu said probes would continue into the deaths. Authorities believe more people may have been involved in the attack.

He promised justice for those found responsible. The command would follow due process, he assured the public.

Residents should stay calm and support the investigation, Nwadiogbu appealed. Anyone with useful information should contact security agencies immediately.

The police remain committed to protecting Benue communities. Officials vowed to maintain peace and security across the entire state.
