Speaking shortly after casting his vote during the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency primary election in Okpe Local Government Area, Governor Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the exercise and the enthusiasm displayed by party members.

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, and Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, have commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary elections across Delta State, describing the exercise as a strong indication of the party’s growing unity and readiness for the 2027 general elections.

The primaries, conducted across federal constituencies in the state through the direct primary and Option A4 voting systems, witnessed a large turnout of party members, peaceful participation by stakeholders, and the emergence of candidates in various constituencies without major incidents of violence or disruption.

Speaking shortly after casting his vote during the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency primary election in Okpe Local Government Area, Governor Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the exercise and the enthusiasm displayed by party members.

“You can see the peaceful manner in which the primary election for the House of Representatives in the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency was conducted. The people are happy, united and satisfied with the process,” the governor stated.

Oborevwori said the impressive turnout of APC members reflected the increasing acceptance and consolidation of the party across Delta State, adding that the atmosphere of unity witnessed during the primaries should be sustained ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I want to thank everyone who came out to participate in this primary election. Their presence and commitment show the strength and unity of our party. This demonstrates clearly that we have dedicated members who are ready to work for the success of the party in 2027,” he added.

Party agents and stakeholders who monitored the exercise also praised the conduct of the primaries. Chief Bernard Jagboro and Hon. Madis Emerorota, agents to Hon. Ramson Onoyake and Mr. Odiate Obaro Emmanuel, respectively, commended the party leadership for ensuring a transparent and credible process.

They particularly applauded Governor Oborevwori for providing what they described as a level playing field for all aspirants and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere throughout the exercise.

At the end of collation, Hon. Ramson Onoyake emerged winner of the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency primary election and was declared victorious by the Returning Officer, Mr. Charles Aniagwu.

In Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Deputy Governor Onyeme lauded the adoption of the Option A4 voting system during the Onicha-Ukwuani Federal Constituency primary election, describing it as one of the most transparent electoral systems.

Speaking after voting in his ward, Onyeme maintained that Option A4 promotes openness, accountability, and credibility in the electoral process.

“If one wants to be truthful, this is the best form of election. Option A4 is the best for our country because secret balloting comes with a lot of deceit,” Onyeme said while also commending the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state.

Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi was eventually declared the winner of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency primary election.

In Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, the exercise was equally peaceful as the Chairman of the National Assembly Primaries Committee for Delta State, Eugene Odo, praised party members for maintaining order and discipline throughout the exercise.

Odo, who monitored the primaries in several parts of the state, described the process as transparent, democratic, and violence-free, noting that the direct primary model allowed party members at the grassroots to actively participate in the selection process.

“This is an actual public meeting, and we have gone to some places to monitor the House of Representatives primaries in Delta State. So far, we have found that the primaries are going on peacefully. You can see that the collation process is going on peacefully,” he said.

Following the collation of results at the Oshimili South Local Government Council Secretariat, former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, emerged winner of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency primary election and was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Mr. Val Arenyeka.

Reacting to his victory, Elumelu described his emergence as a collective triumph for the people of Aniocha/Oshimili and pledged to deliver impactful representation if elected in 2027.

In Ethiope Federal Constituency, the APC primary election was also conducted peacefully across all wards, with Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu emerging as the winner.

A similar atmosphere of orderliness was recorded in Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, where party members turned out in large numbers across various wards to participate in the exercise in compliance with the Electoral Act.

At Kpakiama Ward Two in Bomadi Local Government Area, the Council Chairman, Hon. Dagidi Andaye, commended party faithful for the peaceful conduct of the election, attributing the calm atmosphere to the inclusive leadership style and infrastructural development efforts of Governor Oborevwori across the state.

In Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, party stakeholders praised the transparency of the process after voting commenced peacefully at Afiesere Primary School, venue of the Ughelli Ward 3 exercise.

Stakeholders, including Ughelli North APC Chairman, Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro, described the election as a true reflection of internal democracy within the APC.

At the end of the exercise, Hon. Ejiro Waive emerged the winner of the primary election in the constituency.

In Isoko Federal Constituency, incumbent lawmaker, Jonathan Ukodhiko, defeated challenger Hon. Dickson Ebegbare to secure the APC ticket and was subsequently declared the winner by the returning officer.

The APC also recorded peaceful exercises in Warri Federal Constituency, where stakeholders, including Warri South Local Government Council Chairman, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, APC Chairman in Warri South, Comrade Richard Pessu, and Chief Amah Agbajor, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for ensuring fairness and inclusiveness during the primaries.

In Ika Federal Constituency, APC leaders praised the massive turnout of party members, describing it as a strong endorsement of the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections.
