Oborevwori condoles Okere-Urhobo people over monarch’s demise

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and State PDP Governorship Candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed sadness over the demise of the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Ono Okumagba.

The Speaker who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, in a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dennis Otu, said that he received the passing of the royal father with disbelief and great shock.

He noted that the demise of the highly revered traditional ruler was not only a big blow to his kingdom and subjects but to Delta State in particular and the nation in general.

The Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate stated that the reign of the late monarch ushered in unprecedented peace, unity and development to the Okere-Urhobo kingdom through the instrumentality of his vast network and bridge-building mechanisms.

While saying that the demise of the monarch has created a very big vacuum that would be hard to fill, the speaker said; “Orosuen was a man of peace, grace and had rare love for his subjects and residents. He was a great bridge-builder and advocate of peaceful coexistence. He was of great support to the state government and upheld the rules of law to his last day and we will miss him greatly”.

The speaker urged the Okere-Urhobo people to take solace in the enduring legacies of peace, unity and development the traditional ruler lived for and prayed that the Almighty God should grant the soul of the departed monarch eternal rest.
