Oborevwori celebrates media icon, Mideno Bayagbon at 65

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated veteran journalist and Publisher of The NewsGuru Online, Mideno Bayagbon, on his 65th birthday.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the Governor described Bayagbon as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished journalists whose distinguished career has left a lasting imprint on the nation’s media industry.

Oborevwori lauded the Jeddo-Okpe-born media veteran for his decades of service to journalism, highlighting his editorial depth, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to truth and ethical reporting.

According to the Governor, Bayagbon’s influential role at Vanguard Newspapers helped shape public discourse and contributed significantly to the strengthening of democratic ideals in Nigeria.

“Mr. Mideno Bayagbon is a shining example of integrity, resilience, and excellence in the media profession. His life reflects discipline, hard work, patriotism, and a deep passion for the progress of Delta State and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.

Governor Oborevwori further commended Bayagbon for sustaining relevance beyond mainstream print journalism, noting that The NewsGuru Online continues to promote responsible journalism, balanced reporting, and informed public engagement.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the media icon, wishing him sound health, renewed strength, and many more years of impactful service.

The Governor also urged younger journalists to emulate Bayagbon’s professionalism, ethical standards, and enduring dedication to the craft.
