Obioma’s strike seals win for Enyimba against Lobi Stars

By Olanrewaju Akojede

Enyimba International Football Club of Aba on Monday in Lagos scored through striker Emeka Obioma to gain the full points against Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the former champions won 1-0 for their first win at the ongoing 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 6.

The NPFL Super 6, which is ongoing at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, has six clubs participating in a league format competition.

Enyimba had on Saturday drawn their first match of the Super 6 2-2 with Remo Stars FC, but in this opening fixture of Match Day 2 they got it right.

Obioma made the difference with a well-connected header in the 16th minute.

It helped to make up for his 14th minute miss, when he fluffed a chance to score with a wide effort from close range.

The eight-time Nigerian Premier League champions will have their next match against Bendel Insurance on Wednesday.

Lobi Stars on the other hand will face Rivers United and they desperately need a win against the defending champions who are already with three points from one game.
