The NYSC Director General, Brig Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, has assured corp members and their parents that Borno State is safe and peaceful for them. He made this statement on Tuesday in Maiduguri during the swearing-in ceremony of Batch C Stream 1 2023 Orientation Exercise. He said Borno is known for its hospitality, and the security situation has improved greatly.
Gen. Ahmed also praised the state government for providing quality facilities at the temporary orientation camp in Maiduguri. He expressed optimism that the exercise will soon resume at the permanent site after the completion of the renovation work.
The governor of Borno, Babagana Zulum, who was represented by the Head of the Civil Service, Malam Fannami, donated food items and livestock for the feeding of the corps members. He urged them to be patriotic, responsible, and committed to national development.
The NYSC State Director, Mohammed Adamu Jiya, said 824 corps members have registered in the state for the Batch C Stream 1 exercise. He said he was confident that the exercise would be successful because of the dedication of the corps members.
Some of the corps members told The Sun that they were no longer afraid of staying in Borno after spending some days at the orientation camp.
