Appeal Court Upholds Election of Ibori’s Daughter as Rep Member

The daughter of former Delta State governor and PDP leader, Chief James Ibori, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, has been confirmed as the House of Representatives member for the Ethiope West/Ethiope East Federal Constituency of Delta State by the Appeal Court in Lagos. She is also the chairman of the House Committee on NDDC.

The court, which was comprised of Hon. Justice Festus Ogbuinaya, Justice Senchi, and Justice Waziri, unanimously dismissed the appeal of her opponent, Mr. Michael Etabunor of APGA, and upheld her election on Tuesday.

Rep. Erhiatake Ibori-Suene hailed the court’s decision as a triumph for God and her constituents. She said the ruling showed that democracy is alive and well.
