Nurses Mobilize for NLC’s Nationwide Protest on February 27 and 28

Nurses across Nigeria have started mobilizing in response to the Nigerian Labour Congress’ (NLC) call for a two-day nationwide protest on February 27 and 28, 2024.

The NLC had declared the protest on February 16, following the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government on February 22.

The NLC’s decision to organize a nationwide protest is aimed at drawing attention to various issues faced by Nigerian workers, including the rising cost of living and the need for better working conditions.

The mobilization of nurses is a significant step in ensuring the success of the protest, as they play a crucial role in the country’s healthcare system.

The NLC has urged all workers to join the protest in solidarity, emphasizing that the demonstration is meant to be peaceful and orderly.

The nurses’ mobilization is a clear indication of their commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers and their determination to make their voices heard.

As the date of the protest approaches, it remains to be seen how the Federal Government will respond to the NLC’s demands.

The mobilization of nurses and other workers across the country is a strong signal that the Nigerian workforce is united in its pursuit of better working conditions and a higher standard of living.
