The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,050 personnel to provide security in Jigawa during the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.

Its spokesman in the state, Mr Adamu Shehu, stated in Dutse on Wednesday that the Commandant, Mr Musa Mala, gave assurances that the deployed personnel would be dutiful.

Deployed personnel will man strategic places including Eid grounds, durbar routes, malls and recreational centres.

“Mobile and static patrol will be mounted and a stop-and-search operation will also be placed at various locations,’’ Shehu stated.

He added that the officers would work in synergy with other law enforcement agencies in providing security.

The NSCDC assured that 24-hour surveillance would be provided throughout the festive period.

Shehu added that Mala tasked all component commanders, heads of tactical units, area commanders and divisional officers to ensure smooth celebrations.

The NSCDC also appealed to members of the public to give maximum cooperation to its officers during the festive period and beyond warned parents to monitor and regulate the movements of their wards.
