Nigerians to enjoy passport home delivery from February 2024, says Interior Minister

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has announced that Nigerians will be able to receive their passports at their homes, offices, or any other locations of their choice starting in February 2024.

According to Tunji-Ojo, the ministry has commenced the automation of the end-to-end passport application process, which will make it faster and easier for Nigerians to obtain their passports.

He revealed that the application process for passports will be online by January 2024, and Nigerians will have their passports delivered to them within two weeks at their chosen locations by February 2024, with the support of other relevant stakeholders.

He added that the same innovation would be extended to the visa application process, as the ministry is deploying technology throughout the entire process to make it as seamless as possible. He said that the ministry has set everything in motion to open 12 more visa application centres across the world and is also working on strengthening the visa-on-arrival policy.
