Nigeria's naira kept gaining ground against the dollar on Thursday at the official exchange market. Central Bank data showed the currency strengthened to N1,355.85 per dollar.
Wednesday's rate stood at N1,357.34 per dollar. That means the naira picked up N1.50 in just one trading day.
Street traders also reported gains in the parallel market. The naira climbed to N1,393 per dollar, up from N1,395 on Wednesday.
Nigeria's external reserves, however, continued sliding downward. They fell to $48.32 billion as of May 6, from $48.33 billion the day before.
Wednesday had brought stronger official market performance for the naira. But the parallel market stayed flat that same day.
