Nigeria's currency bounced back Monday at the official forex market. The Naira climbed against the dollar to start the trading week on an upbeat note.
Central Bank data showed the unit strengthened to N1,362.84 from N1,362.21 the previous Friday. It gained just N0.64 in day-to-day trading against the greenback.
On the parallel market, sentiment remained unchanged. Dealers quoted the Naira flat at N1,395 per dollar, matching last week's close.
The recovery came as foreign reserves climbed to $50.12 billion as of June 5th. According to CBN figures, the country's buffers continue expanding steadily.
It's worth noting the currency had weakened Thursday and Friday. Monday's gains reversed those earlier losses at the official window.
