Nigeria's currency bounced back stronger after the Eid-ul-Adha break ended.

On Friday, the Naira climbed to N1,373.25 at the official market, up from N1,375.41 recorded before the holidays.

Central Bank data shows the local unit gained N2.16 against the greenback in that single trading session.

But the black market told a different story. The unofficial rate stayed put at N1,395 per dollar on the same day.

Mixed signals are playing out across Nigeria's foreign exchange landscape right now. External reserves hit $49.34 billion as of Tuesday, May 26.

Before the holiday period kicked off, things looked grim for the Naira. It had weakened considerably against the American currency at the official window.
