Nigerian Civil Society Forum Vows to Prevent NLC’s Planned Protest

The Nigerian Civil Society Forum (NCSF) has declared its opposition to the Nigerian Labour Congress’s (NLC) planned nationwide protest scheduled for February 27 and 28, 2024.

The NLC aims to protest against inflation and the economic hardship in the country.

During a solidarity walk from Unity Fountain to the National Assembly gate, the Co-convener of the NCSF, Sunday Attah, stated that calling for a protest against a government that is just eight months in office is uncalled for.

Attah argued that President Bola Tinubu is doing his best and that the Nigerian people should be patient with the government’s efforts to address the country’s challenges.

The NCSF has also labeled the planned protest as an act of sabotage, claiming that it is an attempt to undermine the government’s efforts to resolve the economic issues and insecurity in the country.

The NCSF Convener, Terrence Kuanum, emphasized that the solution to these problems lies in working together as patriotic Nigerians rather than antagonizing the system.

The NCSF’s stance on the issue has sparked a debate among the public, with some supporting the group’s position and others questioning the effectiveness of the government’s actions to address the country’s economic woes.

As the planned protest date approaches, the Nigerian people eagerly await the outcome of this clash between the NLC and the NCSF.

The Nigerian Civil Society Forum has made it clear that it will not allow the NLC to plunge the country into anarchy through their planned protest.

The NCSF argues that the government needs more time to address the economic challenges and that the protest is an act of sabotage.

It remains to be seen how this situation will develop and what impact it will have on the country’s future.
