Niger State Police Command flatly rejected claims that hoodlums attacked schools in four communities. SP Wasiu Abiodun, the command's spokesman, issued the denial on Wednesday.

According to him, officers visited Bosso, Kpakungu, Sabon-Wuse and Lambata schools personally. They found no evidence of any attacks whatsoever in those areas.

The police warned the public to ignore the rumours immediately. They believe mischief-makers spread the false stories to spark panic among residents and students.

Investigators have already opened a probe into the reports' origin. The command said those behind the false claims would face justice.

CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, the state commissioner, had earlier ordered divisional officers to work closer with school leaders. He's committed to protecting students and staff from harm.

Uniformed patrols around schools will remain visible and constant. This ensures safety across all school environments in the state.

Residents with security concerns should call the police hotlines immediately. Numbers are 0703 196 4389, 0803 223 3454, and 0916 880 2621.
