NGO holds solution-driven dialogue on Southern Kaduna

By Amen Gajira

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Tinam’s Voice, has organized a dialogue to find solutions to the myriad of issues affecting Southern Kaduna.

The Convener of the meeting and Founder of Tinam’s Voice, Deborah Yusuf, decried the way Southern Kaduna became synonymous with killings and insecurity generally.

“The first thing that comes to mind in any conversation that concerns Southern Kaduna is killing, insecurity and what not.

“It is time for us to chart a new course for our future. We are our own saviour. No one will come and save us if we don’t save ourselves,” she added.

She noted that the injustice and marginalisation suffered by the people of the zone should rather strengthen their resolve to progress as a people.

Yusuf said though attempts had been made in the past to address these issues, the people must continue to hold conversations until lasting solution is found.

According to her, Southern Kaduna is blessed with enough human and material resources to grow and develop itself.

In a keynote address, Pastor Gideon Mutum of the Governor’s Assembly, Kafanchan, challenged the people of Southern Kaduna to take their destiny in their hands.

Mutum noted that the first step towards tackling any challenge is the acknowledgement of the existence of that challenge.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that stakeholders at the meeting include students, youths and community leaders, who highlighted issues affecting the zone including insecurity, economy, education and politics and proffered the way forward.
